Larsen started all 12 games for the Aggies last season. The two-year starting center is a part of the offensive line, who blocked the way for the Aggies to rack up 1,230 yards of rushing offense so far this season and makes all the blocking calls for the Utah State offense.
Larsen said Draper, Utah, is his hometown, and he was first team all-state at Jordan High School. The red-shirt sophomore is an academic junior majoring in physical education. His older brother plays on Southern Utah University's defensive line.
Utah Statesman: What is your high school mascot?
Tyler Larsen: The Beetdiggers.
US: How long have you been playing football?
TL: Since I was seven years old.
US: Who is your idol?
TL: My idol is my dad.
US: When you were a little kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
TL: I've never really thought about it but probably like my dad. He owns his own landscaping company.
US: What is your favorite Aggie ice cream flavor?
TL: I'm really just original. I'm good with either vanilla or chocolate.
US: Are you a True Aggie?
TL: I am not, though, I plan to become one sometime soon.
US: Favorite place to eat in Logan?
TL: With my offensive line at Chuck-a-Rama.
US: Favorite memory so far of a game played?
TL: Definitely beating BYU last year.
US: Favorite part of campus?
TL: Either driving out to Porcupine Dam or beating BYU.
US: Best memory so far living in Logan?
TL: I don't know. The whole environment is nice. I love just going on little walks. Everyone is friendly.
US: Favorite sports team?
TL: I really like the Pittsburgh Steelers.
